How Much of “You” Should Be in “You,Inc”

Recently, there’s been a ton of discussion about the concept of “You, Inc”.

Not too long ago, Mike Dillard, in a webinar, discussed his belief that people were getting the concept of “You, Inc.” TOTALLY WRONG.

I think to a certain extent, Mike was right.

The purpose of You, Inc. is presumably to make money, right?

In today’s video, I discuss how much of “You” should be in “You, Inc”– so that you can actually make some money. And believe it or not, some people have so much “You” that their “You, Inc” is never going to make a buck. Don’t let this happen to you!

Watch the video to see what I’m talking about!

As always, I want to hear from you! So share your thoughts and this video :)

    Natasha,
Nice post and video. To me, the purpose of “You, Inc.” is NOT to make money, it is to serve people. When I focus on what I have to offer others (as opposed to how brilliant I am), I meet people’s needs and am rewarded for my gifts. It’s NOT about me, it’s about how to help people out of their pain. In my case, it’s NOT about what a brilliant psychologist and couples counselor Dr. Adam Sheck is, it’s about how I can help couples and singles deal with their relationship issues and be HAPPY!
    Thanks again,
    Adam

Social media is an opportunity to represent ourself as real and build relationships. Your idea of using metaphor’s as a way to inject who we are, is excellent. People relate and learn through metaphors much more than just showing pictures and talking about our self. Also using your ideas we can present who we are and not be all about our self. Thanks for this wonderful video.

Brilliant! Injecting our personalities into our content, what a great way to make giving value unique and I bet people will remember the content that much more when tying a personality into it. I’m doing this for sure when I get my blog up and going.
